Recycling Fun

I had some recycling fun this week and also gained a lot of new jewellery. I already posted some earring made of plastic bags and rubbish bags. The earrings on the first photo were made out of the beads that were hanging on the beaded flower brooch (second photo). They're very easy to make.

The second pair of earrings are made out of paper clips and pins with their pointy bit cut out. Those were glued together and made into earrings. The third pair of earrings were made out of the beads of a cheap bracelet that I never worn and some used stamps. I stuck the stamps back to back and the cut them into random pieces and punched out some holes. Then added some rings and added them to the beads to make the earrings.

Gifts

School is over now. I did a course at school this year, and the teachers helped me a lot with the work as I missed a lot of lessons. SO to thank them for their help I made a personalised notebook with pen for the female teacher and a keyring in a box for the male teacher.
This year was also the first year of school for my son. And his teacher couldn't have been kinder or nicer than the one he had. Fortunately, she'll also teach him next year so I'll be seeing her next year too. She is a very wonderful person and very kind, also she likes her class. I made her the small rosary and put it in the flower box and gave it to her as a thank you gift.

Occasions

Mother's Day. I celebrated it with my hubby and son. My son had a play with school mates but was frightened from all the people and spent the whole play crying in my hands. But at the end he came up to me with a rose and was so cute. Another special thing was the card I received for Mother's day (it's shown on the first pic). Don't know how many of you have crafty husbands but mine surely isn't. So, I really appreciated the fact that he tried out his hands at card making and with patience made me a very lovely card. It is much nicer and toughtful than a bought card. Luv ya Phil. For Father's day I made him a card using the Daisy and Dandelion decoupage and also made him a thank you card using the same decoupage theme. My son made him a father's day card as well, maybe he'll come out like his mum, crafty. On 2 of the photos are some communion cards I made for my twin cousins who had their 1st Holy Communion this month. The last photo is of a card I made for my hubby using the Forever Friends decoupage for our anniversary which is tomorrow.

Fashion Show 09

The Fashion Show was held on 31st April. Unfortunately my hubby wasn't with me on that day as our son had flu and he had to stay in. I also had flu but took so much vitamins and was so excited and frightened at the same time that on that day I didn't felt anything. But the next day spent the day in bed. I worked so much on the dresses that I presented. I didn't made mine out of fabric, instead I made mine out of recycled items like newspapers and rubbish and plastic bags. The newspaper one was a wedding dress and it was worn by my lovely friend, you will see the front detail of the dress on the first photo. I also
made the tiara for her (but not out of recycled material). I also made matching earring and necklaces for the other 3 models. On the last 2 photos there are the rubbish bag earrings and the plastic bags earrings with some beads. The guests were really impressed with my works. And there were a lot of nice compliments especially for the wedding dress which took me a lot of time to make as the back is covered with newspaper "frills". I even ended up on TV twice, one of them was to interview me!!! On TV the bride also had a bouquet which had some of the flowers made with newspaper.

Getting Crafty

It's been a while since I posted here. I was very busy with Easter, hubby's bday, mother's day, the fashion show and studying for the exams. The exams are over now so it's time to relax a bit (and wait for the results).
I'll just show you some stuff that I done during these months.
On a previous post I showed a bunny basket. On the picture below is showed how my son's teacher gave them to the kids. On the left is a picture of some chocolates which I gave for cousins and family for Easter. I removed the original wrapping and made one myself
with an Easter greeting. The third photo shows a card of a bunny that my son made, he made more with the rabbits different coloured for us, his grandparents and his teacher.

The other two are Easter card that I made for my hubby and for my parents. I had fun trying out the flocking powder, even though I ended up covered with the velvety coating more than the cards. The final effect is very nice and soft.

During April my hubby also celebrated his birthday. Another exuse to make cards instead of studying (was studying for May exams). One isn't enough so I made him 2, One from our son and the other from me.

April was a bit of a busy month. My hubby's uncled had a baby girl, a new cousin. And this was the card I made for the little cutie. It was very simple to make and only took me 5 minutes to make.

EASTER BUNNIES and CHICKS

Another month has passed. I was busy doing bunnies, baskets and chicks during March. These are some of the things that I had done.
.
Next week is the Holy week, so I'll take it easy on crafting and would like to go and visit some churches with my son and my hubby. Also my exams will be next month so I'd better study a bit now. My 3 year old son will be off school for 2 weeks so I'll make some craft with him. Last week he made a card for his father's birthday, with a little help from me with the glue. He had lots of fun doing it and it came out very nice. And speaking of my son, I made a few baskets for his class using the cute candyfloss and marshmallow stamps which I bought a few days ago from Binky Crafts. I love these stamps, they are sooooo cute.
